The Downeast Salmon Federation began in 1982. Since then we have grown from a group of concerned anglers to a five person staff making significant gains in the salmon recovery program. We are raising Atlantic salmon in conservation hatcheries at both our Pleasant River Hatchery and the Peter Gray Hatchery in East Machias, we operate a land trust with over 2,000 acres of holdings, and we are a hub for fisheries related activity and education in Downeast Maine. The only way any of this is possible is through support from the community. As a non-profit we rely on grants and donations to keep our programs going. We very much appreciate you considering the opportunity to give to the Downeast Salmon Federation and become a part of this organization and all that we do.
