Students from Washington Academy planting an apple tree.

Volunteering is one of the many ways you can help us meet our goals at the Downeast Salmon Federation. We have volunteers of all ages each year help out with everything from hatchery operations such as fin clipping, stocking, and picking eggs, to land trust stewardship work, to fish habitat surveys. Whether you are interested in gaining valuable hatchery experience, are looking for an excuse to get out in the woods, or just want to lend a hand, there is a volunteer experience waiting for you!

If you are a student, internships through the Downeast Salmon Federation can also be very rewarding. With opportunities to gain experience with working for a land trust, small non-profit, in a hatchery setting and other fisheries related work, there is a unique opportunity waiting for you.

Please fill out our DSF Volunteer Form and return to heather@mainesalmonrivers.org or 13 Willow Street, East Machias, Maine 04630.  You can also contact us for more information and to learn about up and coming volunteer opportunities.
