Downeast Salmon Federation Invites Community to Ice Cream, Locally-sourced Smoked Fish, Fly Casting and More!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Columbia Falls, Maine. The Downeast Salmon Federation is hosting a free Open House and Ice Cream Social, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the Downeast Salmon Federation Peter Gray Hatchery Building at 13 Willow Street, East Machias, Maine 04630, located along the historic East Machias River.
The event is open to all ages. In addition to ice cream, locally-sourced smoked fish, educational opportunities on fish conservation and fly casting, a highlight of the Open House will be an award ceremony, the “Passing of the Paddle” to this year’s recipient, Charlie Harriman.
Support for the Downeast Salmon Federation comes through community, regional, state and national efforts, as well as grants and donations, which make the organization’s educational and social events possible. For every new member contributing, DSF receives $1 for every dollar donated through a 1:1 Match from an Anonymous Family Foundation.
